- 1 box (16 oz) angel food cake mix
- 1 can (21 oz) lemon pie filling
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp fresh lemon zest
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the angel food cake mix and the canned lemon pie filling.
- Using a spatula, fold the ingredients together until the powder is fully absorbed and the batter is a uniform, pale yellow color; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges pull slightly away from the pan and the center feels springy to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the pan to allow the structure to set.
- Dust with powdered sugar and fresh lemon zest before slicing into bars.
