Ingredients:
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled
- 2 large bananas, sliced
- 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
- 1 cup large marshmallows
- 100g pretzel rods
- 2 cups cubed pound cake or brownie bites
Instructions:
- Place the semi sweet chocolate chips in a heat proof glass or metal bowl. Note: Metal conducts heat faster, which can be helpful for the melt.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the heavy cream and unsalted butter to a gentle simmer. Wait until small bubbles form around the edges, then remove it from the heat immediately.
- Pour the hot cream mixture directly over the chocolate chips.
- Let the bowl sit undisturbed for 3 to 5 minutes. Listen for the faint sizzle as the chocolate begins to soften.
- Using a whisk, start in the center of the bowl and whisk in small concentric circles. Continue until the mixture transforms into a glossy, smooth emulsion.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and fine sea salt. Whisk for 30 seconds until fully incorporated and the aroma is fragrant.
- Transfer the melted chocolate into a fondue pot or a warmed serving bowl.
- Arrange your prepared fruit, marshmallows, pretzels, and cake on a large platter surrounding the pot.
