Ingredients:

  • 3 Large Ripe Hass Avocados
  • 1/2 Medium Red Onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped including tender stems
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 Jalapeño pepper, de-seeded and minced
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin

Instructions:

  1. In a non-reactive mixing bowl, combine the finely diced red onion, minced jalapeño, sea salt, and minced garlic.
  2. Use the back of a fork to lightly press these ingredients into the bottom of the bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes to allow osmosis to draw out essential oils.
  3. Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into the bowl with the onion mixture.
  4. Add the lime juice, cilantro, black pepper, and cumin.
  5. Using a sturdy fork, mash the avocados into the aromatics. Maintain small pockets of un-mashed fruit for an artisanal texture.
  6. Use a silicone spatula to gently fold the mixture together until well combined. Serve immediately.
