Ingredients:
- 2 slices sourdough bread, approx. 80g total
- 4 oz high-quality deli turkey breast, thinly sliced
- 1.5 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, sliced
- 5 thin slices Granny Smith apple
- 1 tbsp cranberry sauce
- 1 tbsp salted butter, softened
- 1 tsp mayonnaise
Instructions:
- Spread cranberry sauce thinly on the interior of both slices of sourdough bread.
- Place half of the sharp white cheddar cheese directly onto the sauce to create a moisture barrier.
- Layer the turkey breast on top of the cheese using a shingled or waved pattern to ensure even heat penetration.
- Place the Granny Smith apple slices in the middle of the turkey layers, then top with the remaining cheese and the second slice of bread.
- In a small bowl, blend the softened butter and mayonnaise. Spread this mixture evenly over the exterior of the sandwich.
- Place the sandwich in a preheated panini press or a heavy skillet. Grill for approximately 6 minutes until the exterior is a deep mahogany brown and the internal cheese is fully melted.
