Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sourdough bread, approx. 80g total
  • 4 oz high-quality deli turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 5 thin slices Granny Smith apple
  • 1 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • 1 tbsp salted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp mayonnaise

Instructions:

  1. Spread cranberry sauce thinly on the interior of both slices of sourdough bread.
  2. Place half of the sharp white cheddar cheese directly onto the sauce to create a moisture barrier.
  3. Layer the turkey breast on top of the cheese using a shingled or waved pattern to ensure even heat penetration.
  4. Place the Granny Smith apple slices in the middle of the turkey layers, then top with the remaining cheese and the second slice of bread.
  5. In a small bowl, blend the softened butter and mayonnaise. Spread this mixture evenly over the exterior of the sandwich.
  6. Place the sandwich in a preheated panini press or a heavy skillet. Grill for approximately 6 minutes until the exterior is a deep mahogany brown and the internal cheese is fully melted.
