Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef (93% lean)
- 1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
- 0.25 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 0.5 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
- 1 cup 1% milk
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large non-stick skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes until no pink remains. Drain the meat thoroughly in a colander to remove all excess fat and moisture.
- Grease a 9-inch glass pie plate with non-stick spray. Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly across the bottom, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat layer.
- In a medium glass mixing bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, 1% milk, eggs, salt, and pepper until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter carefully over the meat and cheese layers in the pie plate.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is a deep golden-brown.
